What is mobile wound care and how does it work?

Mobile wound care is the delivery of professional, advanced wound treatment directly to a patient’s home, assisted living facility, or skilled nursing community. At Restore Mobile Wound Care, we eliminate the need for travel, long clinic wait times, and potential exposure to illness. Our experienced providers bring state-of-the-art wound care, personalized treatment plans, and compassionate service right to you—ensuring maximum comfort, convenience, and optimal healing outcomes.

Is in-home wound care as effective as treatment in a hospital or wound care center?

Yes. Restore Mobile Wound Care uses the latest advanced wound care techniques and products to promote faster healing and better comfort. For patients with chronic or non-healing wounds, we provide aggressive, evidence-based treatments including biologics, advanced dressings, and innovative therapies.

What types of wounds can mobile wound care treat?

We treat a wide range of acute and chronic wounds, including:

  • Diabetic foot ulcers
  • Venous stasis ulcers
  • Pressure injuries (bedsores)
  • Arterial ulcers
  • Surgical wounds
  • Traumatic injuries
  • Infected or non-healing wounds
  •

Each care plan is customized using advanced therapies to speed healing, reduce complications, and improve quality of life.

Who is a good candidate for mobile wound care services?

Mobile wound care is ideal for patients who:

  • Have limited mobility or transportation challenges
  • Live in assisted living or skilled nursing facilities
  • Need post-surgical wound management
  • Suffer from chronic, slow-healing wounds that require advanced treatment

Our services are designed for anyone needing expert wound care without the stress of traveling to a clinic.

Do I need a doctor’s referral for mobile wound care?

In many cases, a referral from your primary care physician or specialist is helpful, but it’s not always required. We work with patients, caregivers, physicians, home health agencies, and facilities to coordinate care and ensure a smooth start to treatment.

What advanced wound care treatments do you provide at home?

Our in-home wound care services include:

  • Biologics (skin substitutes) for chronic wounds
  • Whole Blood Wound Therapy to stimulate natural healing
  • Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) for deep or draining wounds
  • Collagen dressings to support tissue repair
  • Advanced pathogen testing for targeted infection control

These evidence-based treatments are proven to stimulate tissue growth, fight infection, and promote faster healing.

Is mobile wound care covered by insurance or Medicare?

Most insurance plans, including Medicare, cover medically necessary wound care services. Our team can verify your benefits and explain any potential out-of-pocket costs before treatment begins.

How quickly can I get an in-home wound care appointment?

In many cases, we can schedule your first visit within a few days—and sooner for urgent needs. We aim to provide prompt, responsive wound care so your healing process can start without delays.
